Why have your knives sharpened:
- The knife works when you need it. Particularly knives used by emergency personnel... time matters. A
properly sharpened knife will reduce time, and avoid multiple cuts to get the job done.
- More productive. Your work will go faster and easier.
- Less waste. Ever cut something with a dull knife, and find yourself throwing away a lot of torn, broken parts?
With a sharp knife, this is reduced. This applies to food, dressing game, cutting supplies, etc.
- Reduced injuries. There are two parts to this. First, repetitive injury can be reduced because a sharp knife
needs less pressure to work with. Second, a sharp knife properly used is safer because it requires less force, so you maintain better control of the knife.
- Many people cut themselves when a knife is sharpened. This is not because a sharp knife is more dangerous... it's because
techniques were used that were developed while, or to compensate for, using a dull knife. In other words...
BE CAREFUL!!
